Verkehrswende gemeinsam gestalten: polisMOBILITY bekommt Unterstützung von Bund und Kommunalverbänden

Dr. Volker Wissing, Bundesminister für Digitales und Verkehr, hat die Schirmherrschaft der polisMOBILITY expo & conference übernommen. Er ergänzt die Schirmherrschaften des Deutschen Städtetages und Deutschen Städte- und Gemeindebundes. Die Fachkonferenz mit Ausstellung findet am 22. und 23. Mai im Congress-Centrum Ost der Koelnmesse statt.Als zentrale Plattform für sektorübergreifenden Dialog bringt die polisMOBILITY an zwei Tagen die führenden Köpfe aus Politik, kommunalen Institutionen, Privatwirtschaft und Wissenschaft zusammen, um nachhaltige Mobilitätslösungen aktiv zu gestalten und voranzutreiben. Mit einem starken Signal seitens des Bundes hat Dr. Volker Wissing, Bundesminister für Digitales und Verkehr, nun die Schirmherrschaft für die Veranstaltung übernommen.
„Innovative Mobilitätskonzepte sind entscheidend für die Zukunft unserer Städte. Gerade die Digitalisierung eröffnet uns hier noch viele Möglichkeiten. Der Schlüssel sind mehr und bessere Mobilitätsdaten. Sie sind die Grundvoraussetzung für attraktive, multimodale Verkehrsangebote und Echtzeit-Verkehrsinformationsdienste. Der Bund arbeitet hier bereits an einem Mobilitätsdatengesetz. Auch das digitale Deutschlandticket wird der Digitalisierung des ÖPNV einen weiteren Schub verleihen. Wenn die Menschen bequem und ohne großen Aufwand vom PKW oder dem Rad auf den ÖPNV oder die Bahn umsteigen können, erleichtert das nicht nur das Reisen, sondern spart auch CO2“, betont Wissing. „Ein Raum für einen offenen Dialog zwischen politischen Entscheidungsträgern, kommunalen Akteuren und Lösungsanbietern ist dabei unerlässlich. Deshalb unterstütze ich als Schirmherr die polisMOBILITY, eine Plattform, die über den Austausch von Ideen hinausgeht und innovative Mobilitätslösungen greifbar macht.“
polisMOBILITY als Forum für den nationalen und kommunalen Dialog
Wissing verstärkt damit die bereits von den kommunalen Spitzenverbänden Deutscher Städtetag und Deutscher Städte- und Gemeindebund getragene Initiative. Helmut Dedy, Hauptgeschäftsführer des Deutschen Städtetages, und Dr. André Berghegger, Hauptgeschäftsführer des Deutschen Städte- und Gemeindebundes, unterstreichen die Bedeutung der Veranstaltung für die nachhaltige Entwicklung urbaner Räume.
„Die Verkehrswende ist für unsere Städte mehr als nur eine Herausforderung; sie ist eine notwendige Transformation. Mit der Schirmherrschaft der polisMOBILITY unterstützen wir den Austausch zur Mobilität der Zukunft, um unsere urbanen Räume nachhaltig zu gestalten“, erklärt Dedy. „Was in der Verkehrspolitik möglich ist, hängt stark von lokalen Rahmenbedingungen ab. Hier braucht es daher ein breites Instrumentarium, um die Verkehrswende vor Ort auch wirklich gestalten zu können. Die polisMOBILITY ist eine ideale Plattform, um Ideen zu diskutieren und Partnerschaften zu stärken, die den Wandel hin zu inklusiven und nachhaltigen Städten und Gemeinden vorantreiben“, ergänzt Dr. Berghegger.
Innovation und Austausch am Stand des BMDV
Das Bundesministerium für Digitales und Verkehr (BMDV) präsentiert sich auf der polisMOBILITY zudem mit einem eigenen Stand. Hier werden aktuelle Projekte zum Radverkehr, Projekte der Innovationsinitiative mFUND und der selbstständigen Bundesoberbehörden Bundesamt für Logistik und Mobilität (BALM) und Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen (BASt) vorgestellt. Besucherinnen und Besucher erhalten so Einblicke in die Zukunft der digitalen und physischen Mobilität in Deutschland. Vertreterinnen und Vertreter des Ministeriums stehen für Gespräche und Austausch bereit.
Gemeinsam mit der Arbeitsgemeinschaft fußgänger- und fahrradfreundlicher Städte, Gemeinden und Kreise in Nordrhein-Westfalen e.V. (AGFS NRW) verleiht das BMDV am 23. Mai ferner den Deutschen Fahrradpreis 2024 auf der polisMOBILITY. Ein Abendempfang vom BMDV, der AGFS NRW und der polisMOBILITY bietet im Anschluss weitere Möglichkeiten für Dialog und Vernetzung.
polisMOBILITY camp setzt Dialog in Kölner Innenstadt fort
Am 24. und 25. Mai verwandelt das polisMOBILITY camp den Rudolfplatz in der Kölner Innenstadt in einen Erlebnisraum für die städtische Mobilität von Morgen. Alles dreht sich um eine Frage: Wie kommen wir „Besser durch Köln“? Das polisMOBILITYcamp bietet einen lebendigen Raum für Bürgerdialog, Informationen, Austausch und Kreativität rund um eine klimaschonende, sozial gerechte und zukunftsfähige Mobilität. Shaping the transport transition together: polisMOBILITY now supported by the German federal government and municipal associations
Dr Volker Wissing, German Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, becomes a patron of polisMOBILITY
Dr Volker Wissing, German Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, has given his support to the polisMOBILITY exhibition and conference, joining the Association of German Cities (DST) and the German Association of Towns and Municipalities (DStGB) as an official patron. The specialist conference and accompanying exhibition will be held on 22 and 23 May at Koelnmesse’s Congress Centre East.As a key platform for sector-spanning dialogue, polisMOBILITY brings together the leading figures from politics, municipal institutions, the private sector and the scientific community over two days with the aim of actively shaping and advancing sustainable mobility solutions. Dr Volker Wissing, Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, has now become a patron of the event, sending a strong signal on behalf of the German government.
“Innovative mobility concepts are vital for the future of our cities. Digitalisation in particular is opening up many opportunities for us here. More and better mobility data is the key. It is fundamental to the provision of attractive, multimodal transport solutions and real-time traffic information services. The German federal government is already working on a mobility data law. The digital ‘Deutschlandticket’ will also help to advance the digitalisation of the local public transport system. Giving people the ability to switch conveniently and easily from their cars or bikes to local public transport or trains won’t just make travelling easier, it will also reduce CO2 emissions,” Wissing pointed out. “Having a space for open dialogue between political decision makers, municipal stakeholders and solution providers is essential. That is why I am proud to give my support as a patron to polisMOBILITY, a platform that goes beyond exchanging ideas to bring innovative mobility solutions to life.”
polisMOBILITY as a forum for national and municipal dialogue
Wissing’s patronage serves to strengthen the initiative, which already has the support of municipal-level umbrella organisations the Association of German Cities (DST) and the German Association of Towns and Municipalities (DStGB). Helmut Dedy, Executive Director of the DST, and Dr André Berghegger, Managing Director of the DStGB, stressed the importance of the event for the sustainable development of urban areas.
“The transport transition is more than just a challenge for our cities; it’s a necessary transformation. By acting as patrons to polisMOBILITY, we are supporting the dialogue on the mobility of the future with a view to shaping our urban spaces on a sustainable basis,” explained Dedy. “What is possible in transport policy is heavily dependent on local circumstances. That’s why we need a wide range of tools to really be able to shape the transport transition at a local level. polisMOBILITY is an ideal platform for discussing ideas and strengthening partnerships that will drive the transformation towards inclusive and sustainable cities and communities,” added Dr Berghegger.
Innovation and dialogue at the Ministry stand
The German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport will also have its own stand at polisMOBILITY. It will showcase current projects related to cycling alongside projects supported by the mFUND innovation initiative and independent higher federal authorities the Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility (BALM) and the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt), giving visitors insights into the future of digital and physical mobility in Germany. Representatives of the Ministry will be available to engage in discussions and exchange ideas.
At polisMOBILITY on 23 May, the BMDV will also jointly present the Deutscher Fahrradpreis 2024 cycling award together with the Working Group of Pedestrian- and Bicycle-Friendly Cities, Municipalities and Districts in North Rhine-Westphalia (AGFS NRW e.V.). The awards presentation will be followed by an evening reception hosted by the Ministry, AGFS NRW and polisMOBILITY, providing additional opportunities for dialogue and networking.
polisMOBILITY camp continues the conversation in Cologne city centre
On 24 and 25 May 2010, the polisMOBILITY camp will transform Rudolfplatz in Cologne’s city centre into an interactive space where visitors can experience the urban mobility of tomorrow. Here, everything revolves around one question: how can we move around Cologne better? The polisMOBILITY camp will provide a stimulating space for public dialogue, information sharing, creativity and an exchange of ideas on all aspects of climate-friendly, socially just and sustainable mobility.
